Simple Web Page Using HTML and CSS
Using only HTML and CSS, I will attempt to make a simple website. If you are already viewing this page, this means that I have successfully finished building it. I will use as much code I’ve learned as possible. Starting with this one, the blockquote.
Trying and failing is better than never trying at all.
I don’t know why the text is not centered, unlike the example shown in the the lesson. I have tried using the text-align:center, but it only centered it horizontally, not vertically like I wanted. Vertical align is another thing I would assume. I’ll have to look into this later.
Now for the next element to try, the image.
Let’s pretend this is a relevant image caption.
Sweet! So far so good. Let’s step it up and make a table next.

Rocky | Pabling |
Kiwi | Berting |
Pipet | Squeak |
Madeline | Midnight |
Phew! Had to whip out my Google-fu skills to get the styling I want for that one. I’ve got say, I’m starting to enjoy doing this all manually. lol. What’s next? Hmm. Right! Time for unordered and ordered lists.
Just because I can’t think of anything else, here’s how my morning normally goes:
- Wake up or rather be woken up by my cats (or one cat in particular *cough* Lito *cough* ) either by them (*cough* him *cough*) licking my face or nibbling on my fingers.
- Feed them cats to get some peace and quiet so I can get some more shut eye if I wanted to. If not, proceed to 3.
- Clean the cat’s litter box, sweep the floor, fix my bed, or in other words, get some cleaning done before doing anything else!
- Now I can finally take care of my own needs. First up, wash thy face to preserve whatever beauty I still have (if I had any in the first place lol).
- Whip up my non-existent cooking skills and prepare oatmeal for breakfast. HAHAHA.
- Enjoy some short videos while having breakfast before I start racking my brain for work/school.
- Start working or studying and wait for lunch.
Sooo that’s pretty much my morning routine. lol. On a more (but by not that much) serious note, here are a bunch of things I’ve learned throughout the entire course:
- Haste makes waste.
- Time flies EVEN when you’re NOT having fun.
- Plan, plan, plan!
- Learn the basics and work your way up.
- The world is your oyster.
Had I managed my time better, I wouldn’t have learned those things the hard way. (Oopsie!)
I think that’s about it for this portfolio. Coach, if you’ve made it this far and actually went through the entire page, I’m sorry for all the non-sense. lol. I wanted to make a page that actually looks like a page and not just full of sample text. (I’m not sure if this is any better though lol) And to whoever gets to see this page, thanks for sticking around and making it this far! With that, I’ll leave you with this to brighten your day (or would it? lololol).
